- In 1990, as we were driving through a little village, I noticed a quaint old barn with a corrugated roof, and a newly-built house adjacent to it. They were standing on a large plot of land, full of pernicious weeds - a corner of a farmer's field, in fact. Then we saw the "For Sale" sign. Four months later we moved in and decided to create a garden for wildlife. contact me

Good morning, meeyauw, and welcome to our little corner of paradise. Although the garden is beginning to have a 'tousled' look about it by this time of year, there are little pockets of colour here and there from the late bloomers :) Thank you for your visit and for the lovely compliments.

Hello again, blackswamp_girl. So lovely to have you revisit the garden. I love penstemons too. I have tried having them in previous years, but they did not survive the winter. Hopefully, they might fare better this time.

Every photo is so lovely...I especially love the Penstemon and waterlily. After a week of rain finally had some sun yesterday and spent part of the day deadheading the soggy masses. The roses really took a battering. Still waiting for my late bloomers.

Thank you, dear Ruth. I'm still waiting for my butterflies to come. After such a wet June and July we have hardly seen them this summer...same goes for my damsels and dragonflies.
I especially love the Poppy photo, looks so delicate, like crape paper.
